About

Kyrea Njuguna, P.E. is a professional mechanical engineer with 20 years of international experience in energy and industry. He recently consulted BVRT, who own wastewater treatment facilities in Texas, on operational and sustainability improvements. He also recently worked with a startup, COI Energy, to improve their commercial building energy efficiency services and develop their presence in California. He previously managed wastewater treatment / sludge-to-energy / flue gas treatment equipment design and build for a $53M European project at SUEZ. Over the course of his career, Kyrea steered feasibility studies, developed technical/commercial supplier evaluations and supervised detailed engineering on numerous engineering projects (gas gathering and treatment, LNG, refining, gas to liquids). He has also led feasibility studies and pilot projects using hydro-power and anaerobic bio-digestion technologies for start-ups in Nepal and Haiti, and managed manufacturing, quality, cost and risk for a portfolio of electric motors worth $3M at GE Energy. He is passionate about bringing his experience, insights and skills to implementing successful and positive-impact programs in energy, industrial and scientific technologies.

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK
  • Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, U.K.
